Why Folks Love the City of Paris Texas

4th of July Parade Paris Texas 2011Image by inparistexas via FlickrThe city of Paris Texas is a small city that retains its historical small town flavor.  It is considered one of the jewels in Texas’s famed Red River Valley.  It’s beautiful Victorian architecture, plethora of lakes and parks, and generous climate make Paris an eye-pleasing Texas town.  It’s not hard to see the beauty in its gingerbread porches and tree lined streets of the Old Town district, and the kitchy kookiness of Jesus in Cowboy Boots or the “Eiffel Tower” adorned with cowboy hat are likewise sure to bring a smile to the face of visitors exploring our region for the first time.  There are so many reasons to adore the city of Paris Texas that it would be impossible to list them all.

Paris Texas has something for everyone.

Visitors love shopping in Paris.  Antique stores and antique malls provide one-of-a-kind pieces for those looking to add some old world style to their home or office.  Bakeries offer tasty southern breads, cookies, and cakes.  Art galleries supply locals and visitors with some of the very best in Texas artists, and the tiny stores and curios that line main street and the loft districts offer a little bit of everything—as long as it’s unusual!

The city of Paris Texas also boasts beautiful lakes and parks with year round outdoor activities.  Fishing, boating, cycling, hiking, running—all of these activities can be done year around in our parks.  Visitors can also take pleasure in the many decorations the town provides from our Eiffel Tower to water feature statuary.  There really is no better example of a traditional town in all of the Lone Star State than you will find right here in the city of Paris Texas.
